Kanae had told her daughter Junko, "Recently, my stiff shoulders are terrible." A two-night, three-day hot spring trip planned by Junko's husband, Toshio, who heard the story. Kanae immediately arrived at the inn and soaked in the bath with Junko. That evening, she was offered a massage by Toshio and readily agreed.
