This summer has been hotter than usual. Reiko Kobayakawa, a housewife who has been married for 20 years, participates in various events every day as an officer of the women's department of the apartment community association. One day, Reiko visits the room of a hard-working student who lives in the same apartment to collect the residents' association membership fee. A study room without an air conditioner, with a perpetual floor, wrapped in a sultry heat.
